I took a 24-hour course with Mike and passed my test on the first attempt. He taught me how to ride with control, corrected my technique, and shared valuable tips for driving safely on the road. Mike drives with passion and brings decades of experience into his lessons. After trying quite a few instructors, I found Mike through a friend—and I highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive.

I passed today with the 6 hour manual course. Mike was very time efficient in getting test booked and keeping in contact with me. When on the course he taught me how to drive and not comply. I 100% recommend doing a course with Mike as the courses allow you to learn quick and proper

Mike is a dedicated driving instructor. He’s very good at explaining everything. I had about half a dozen lessons and a two day intensive course and have passed today. Mike’s helped to build up my confidence.

Mike was amazing. Very open and honest. Really helped me touch up on my driving during my 6hr 1 day course which led to me PASSING 1st time. I can’t thank him enough for the efforts he put in to get me a test in as early as he did.

I’m really glad that I had Mike as my driving instructor. He is the best teacher. He is very calm and approachable. He always boosted my confidence levels while driving. I like it how he prioritised making me a better driver rather than just passing the test.

Also, he is very understanding when it comes to being flexible with driving lesson timings.

Mike is class. Helped me gain all my confidence back in driving. Always supportive and chatty about football which was great even though he’s a blues fan. Highly recommend to anyone.

I did an intensive 36hr course in a week with Michael Cockayne. I rate this man highly! Although I had a knowledge of cars and driving prior, I was very nervous and had lack of confidence in myself and my ability. I am not a very good person to teach as I lack in confidence, but he had a lot of patience and time for me and was very very calm. Told me how it was and what he could see I was capable of and if I wanted it enough, I would achieve it. And I did!! Things I never thought I could do in a week, I could! He told me to go learn how to drive after I passed, I was confused at the time but soon realised. He taught me how to drive, but my driving skills now is down to me! But he put me on that path and gave me the confidence to be the driver I am today. 12 yrs on. People compliment my driving and my parallel parking, which I never thought I would be confident or good at. I praise this man everytime and recommend him. His time and skills is worth every penny if you are willing to learn.

I had two other driving instructors before meeting Mike and I don’t think they were a good fit for me as they were too technical in their lessons and their primary goal was to just clear my exam. Mike’s teaching methods were pragmatic with an emphasis on not just passing the test but also on becoming a safe and responsible driver on the road.

I had a great driving lessons for the past 5 days with Michael, he helped me with advice and has been a great friend as well as a great driving instructor.

I was doing Manual then changed to automatic as there’s no point since I already had an automatic Car.

I passed with flying colours ! Thank God it’s over now. No more lessons😊✌️😁

Thank God, I passed my driving test on the first attempt. All credit goes to Mike, the calm and cool gentleman. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been trained by him.

Here is my testimony: before and after meeting Mike,

I had a party away from my old instructor because he felt I was an incapable driver, that I was not fit to drive on UK roads (despite having 10 years of driving experience in India), and that I would never get a license to drive in the UK.

Spending time with Mike,

Fortunately, I met Mike through a common friend and asked him to accept me as a student after our first trial class (I was scared and overreacting, but he understood my state of mind and reassured me). He was really encouraging and improved my confidence. He was so calm and composed that he never overreacted or forced me to modify my driving style. He was only correcting my errors, and I had to follow his advice, which was quite simple to accept.

Driving test day, I literally had a sleepless night before my test day, I had an hour of refreshment session with Mike and I did all kinds of errors and was nervous. Realizing my condition, he asked to stop for a chat, and his wonderful words stayed in my mind till the end of my test and I had no words to thank him for the support I received to get the UK driving license.

He is “the best trainer in Wolverhampton” based on my experience and conversations with my friends who had training experience with other trainers.

After having trouble with previous driving instructor, I was recommended to learn with Michael & I chose to do a 30 hour intensive course finishing with my test on the last day in which I had PASSED 1ST TIME! He is so calm & helpful towards you which enables you to explore your driving and only get better, I not only enjoyed the experience but so grateful that I passed first time, thank you so much Michael.

I passed my test first time today thanks to Mikes excellent teaching! I had 24 hours over 5 days and I couldn’t be more happy about my decision to do the intensive course. I had been struggling to learn in a manual car for 3 years with different instructors so it’s a huge weight off my shoulders that I can finally drive!

Mike was a great instructor, I did 30 hours worth of automatic lessons over 4 days with a first time pass. I struggled to feel confident but he helped boost my confidence and it all came together perfectly in time for my test.

Mike was a really friendly instructor, when I rang up I was put forward for my theory test quite soon, so I revised and passed 1st time. I had 22 hours of lessons over 4 days and 2 hours prep 2 days before test day. Mike also picked me up on test day and ran through what is needed to pass a test in a practical aspect. I passed 1st time with expert driving instruction from mike, I would highly recommend Mike he taught me everything I needed to know to pass and more. Top bloke

I took my test 4 weeks ago, and have been driving almost daily since. I have to say, Mike doesn’t just teach you how to pass, he teaches you how to drive well. Through a lot of patience, and a great sense of humour, Mike put me at ease behind the wheel, taking me through everything I needed to know to be a safe driver and pass my test first time. Would thoroughly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a driving instructor, it’s rare that you’ll find someone who has the patience and knowledge that he has, while also shedding the title of “instructor” to be more of a teacher.

The lessons themselves were extremely relaxed, and Mike was really open to any questions I asked. He never got annoyed at anything I did, nor did he grow impatient when I made mistakes, he simply went through the situation with me and got me to realise where I was going wrong, this is great because you’re not spoon fed the solution, but rather you’re led to work it out yourself; meaning you’ll remember it.

Overall, Mike is without a doubt a great driving teacher, if you’re looking for someone who can help you to not only pass your test first time, but actually be able to drive, then I wholeheartedly recommend you get in touch with him.

I passed my test last week first time and couldn’t recommend Mike enough! I booked a 24 hour course and it was the perfect amount of time to get me confident with driving! Going into the week I already had some driving experience from a previous instructor but Mike was able to keep pushing me even when I had a bad day! I just passed my test last week and I had the pleasure of being taught by Mike, who I couldn’t rate him high enough. Mike is a very effective instructor, very patient with a great sense of humour and is a gentleman. The most impressive things are his positive attitude towards teaching and his revolutionary methods that are more according to modern day driving reality. His objective is not only getting you to pass the practical test; it is also to eliminate any potential dangers, making sure you are safe on the roads. I have just completed a weeks course with Mike and passed first time after failing my test a few years ago. He is very patient, understanding and has boosted my confidence so much. I would recommend him to anyone especially if you are a nervous or not so confident driver as he will teach you not only how to pass but how to be a safe driver!
